Jane Kellock

Chair | Pastoralist

Jane is a farmer in SA’s Mid North, former regional councillor, and leader in Australia’s sheep industry. Jane is the current Chair of the South Australian Sheep and Cattle Blueprints, Vice chair of the Southern Australia Livestock Research Council and member of the Sheep Sustainability Framework Steering committee. In addition, Jane leads Ski for Life, a not for profit supporting mental health in rural and remote Australia.

David Stevenson

CEO | Goyder Council

David is Chief Executive Officer of the Goyder Regional Council. Over his career he has actively coordinated local government activities in regional South Australia to drive community and economic development as CEO of the Legtaus Group (formerly the Central Local Government Region of SA), consulted to Biosecurity Queensland as acting CEO and had a seat on the board of one of Australia’s most successful private health insurers and hospital operators.

Tony Brooks

Councillor | Goyder Council

Tony has lived and farmed in SA’s mid north for 44 years and is an elected member of the Goyder Regional Council. He owns East Bungaree Merino Stud and operates the Brooks Merino Services consultancy. A passionate sportsman, actively involved in local sporting organisations, both through participation and administration. Tony has trained young indigenous students to be jackaroos and jillaroos for S.Kidman & Co with the Bungala Aboriginal Corporation.

Judy Partington

Councillor | Goyder Council

Judy is a councillor with the Goyder Regional Council. Throughout her career she has been a business owner, operator and employer within the Electrical Contracting Industry, providing her with first-hand understanding of the importance of training and upskilling the workforce. She is committed to helping to open pathways through education for individuals living in rural South Australian communities.

Heidi Hodge

Educator

Heidi has a strong background in rural research and higher education, both as an educator and a lifelong remote learner. She is deeply committed to advocating for increased access to all forms of education, training and professional development by rural communities, no matter how remote.

Deborah Boylan

Retired Lawyer

Deborah worked as a lawyer. She was appointed to the Commonwealth Migration Tribunal in 2000 and later to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal in the migration stream. She has served on a number of state government boards and not-for- profit organisations. Deborah is currently a company director in her family’s pastoral business.

Michelle Cousins

Business Director

Michelle is an agribusiness owner and currently holds multiple positions within the livestock industry and her local community. As a past chair of the Burra Community School governing council and her involvement in upskilling students and producers in technology use in livestock management she is a strong advocate for educational opportunities both locally and nationally.

Joanne Goodwin

Accountant & Tax Agent

Jo is an accountant and tax agent who has practiced in the Mid North region for over 25 years and specialises working with small – medium enterprises. She works with clients in a variety of industries preparing financial statements, income tax returns and offering business and tax advice. Jo has also held positions on numerous sporting and community groups in the region and is excited to be a part of the Goyder Education Foundation committee.

the Foundation’s STRUCTURE

The Goyder Education Foundation was formally established on the 28th March 2019 and is an incorporated not for profit organisation with DGR (deductible gift recipient) status, governed by a committee mostly comprised of representatives from the Goyder commercial community and local government.

The committee operates under rules drawn up by lawyers Minter Ellison, accepted at formation and amended on the 24th February, 2021, which detail the objects, powers and operations of the committee and the Foundation.
